Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday greeted former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 88th birthday and wished him a healthy and long life.

In a congratulatory message, Kumar said the BJP patriarch's presence and rich political experience will continue to benefit the country and its people.

He said that Vajpayee has set a high benchmark of conduct and leadership in public life which will always remain worth emulating for all public servants.
The state resident commissioner in New Delhi Alok Vardhan Chaturvedhi visited the BJP heavyweights residence on the occasion, on behalf of the chief minister.
