Talking to the Hindustan Times, KP Singh, the father of Rahul Raj said, “We will move the NHRC soon to seek justice to the innocent boy. Though the NHRC has already served notice to the Maharashtra Government to submit a report on the incident, we are also planning to approach the quasi-judicial body. My son, Rahul had visited Mumbai for the first time. He was simple and may have fell into the trap of some people. There must be some high level conspiracy to kill him,” he said.

Rahul’s father is also seeking judicial advice to lodge separate FIRs against the police personnel involved in the encounter. “The report provided by the Mumbai police mentioned names of five persons involved in the encounter. We are now planning to file named FIR against those five cops. Names of the cops involved in the case include Javed and Sadanand,” he said adding that a case of conspiracy would also be filed against Raj Thackarey.
