Bihar's main opposition party lambasts the state government for allegedly doing nothing but hoodwinking and misleading the people.

Dismissing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's assertion of his government doing all possible for the uplift of minorities in the state, chief opposition RJD on Tuesday lambasted the state government for allegedly doing nothing but hoodwinking and misleading the people.

There is not a single step which we can comprehend aiming at bettering the lot of minorities in Bihar. Even the state's NDA government has deliberately been ignoring the cause of minorities, RJD chief spokesman and deputy leader in the state assembly Shakeel Ahmed Khan told a news conference.

Submitting a three-point 'chargesheet' for the state government's failure to implement the centrally-sponsored scheme for the minorities, Khan alleged that the NDA regime working at the diktats of the RSS, would not deliver justice.

In accordance with the recommendations of the Sachchar committee, the central government introduced a scheme of post-matric scholarship for the students belonging to the minorities, he said, adding around 22,500 such students applied for the scholarships during 2006-07 and out of them, 5500 students were to get scholarships of Rs 10,000 each per annum.
