A large number of teacher aspirants created ruckus at the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Tuesday, alleging discrepancies in results of the Secondary Teachers' Eligibility Test (STET). The results were announced on June 14 last.
The teacher aspirants had come for correction in their results. The discrepancies relate to incorrect names, dates of birth, sex, subjects etc. Though the last date for submission of application for correction of results has expired, the students wanted their applications to be accepted, which the board did.
Board has all along maintained that there was no discrepancy.
Across the state, 4,24,272 candidates had taken the two-tier STET examinations-one for the secondary and the other for the senior secondary teachers.
The pass percentage in paper-1 (secondary teachers) was 21.16%, while in paper-2 (senior secondary teachers) it was 20.99%.
In the evening, principal secretary, education department, Amarjeet Sinha, held a meeting with the board chairman Rajmani Prasad Sinha and board secretary Lalan Jha to review the functioning.
Board chairman Rajmani Prasad Sinha said the board had done everything with utmost transparency and he could explain it to anyone who wanted to know about it.
