"Many political parties have been saying they prefer me and want me to become the president of India. I respect their views and I appreciate their ideas. I will take the proper decision at the right time," Kalam said.
The Samajwadi Party and the Trinamool Congress had Wednesday named Kalam as one of their three preferred candidates for president. On Thursday, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee said Kalam was their number one choice and reiterated it after a meeting with SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
