Ramzan nears a bittersweet close with the Juma-tul-Wida marking the last Friday of this sacred month observed with abstinence, prayer and solidarity and the advent of the year that lies ahead enriched with the lessons of Ramzan.

Friday marks the day of congregation and also sabbath in many Islamic countries. Distinct among the weekly occurrences of this day is the Juma-tul-Wida or Farewell Friday in Ramzan, the month spent in fasting and abstinence by millions around the world. This Friday is one of reflection - upon the endeavours of Ramzan, the proximity of Eid ul-Fitr, the end of this month of blessings, but also the first notch for Fridays ahead and the return of Ramzan.
