Photos: Linking Jharkhand coal mines to power plants on Tori-Shivpur Rail Line

The 44-km long Tori-Shivpur Railway Line facilitates coal transportation from Central Coalfields Limited’s open cast mines Amrapali and Magadh in Jharkhand’s Latehar and Chatra districts respectively. State miner Coal India's output and shipments jumped to seasonal records in June, buoyed by summer demand from power stations, the company's biggest customers. A look at the rail line’s, long delayed services, which were expected to finally alleviate production hinderances at Jharkhand’s Magadh and Amrapali open cast mines and facilitate Chandragupta and Sanghamitra blocks in North Karanpura.
