Photos: Schools shut, flights cancelled as incessant rains lash Mumbai

In Mumbai, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in several parts of the city and suburbs in the next 48 hours. With cancellation of 30 flights, the operations at Mumbai airport have been affected for the second day. Additionally, 118 flights, including 86 departures, have been running late on Thursday. In view of heavy rainfall, National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams have also been kept on standby.

Water level has receded in almost all parts of Mumbai. NDRF teams are on alert and kept on stand by at Kurla, Parel and Andheri. Flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) here were affected for the second day with cancellation of 30 flights and another 118 getting delayed on Thursday.
