Heartburn is the burning sensation right behind the breastbone. Some of the common causes of heartburn are acid reflux, alcohol consumption, spicy food and overeating. In most cases, heartburn may not indicate anything serious. "Heartburn occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach," wrote Nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee.(Unsplash)
