Edan Alexander, the only American hostage still alive in Gaza, will be released by Hamas as part of ceasefire negotiations. The hostage's release, according to Hamas, is a step toward a truce deal that would permit the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Alexander was held in the Gaza Strip since the October 2023 attacks by Hamas on Israel.(AFP)
