Tell us about your educational background.

I studied at Allana college of architecture in the 2005 to 2011 batch. I have always been interested in drawing, craft and sculpturing . It is a creative field and I liked it. So, I decided to pursue architecture as my career. I was an average student all through.

What drove you to choose this career path?

I had made short films as a hobby. I was always interested in architecture. I thought architecture was something similar to making films as the designed buildings should speak for their purpose and design. I compared both the professions and I liked architecture more. Ilikedtheway my college and staff members took efforts to make the learning more fun. My college life was very interesting because of the study tours and different people we met. Also my class had foreign students, so I got to learn different cultures and languages.

My career is going on very well. I have shifted my focus on interior design more than Architecture now.

What are your future plans?

I wish to work on cost effective and recycling techniques for making modular furniture from scrap metal, ,plastic, local materials, etc for rural areas. I would also like to pursue my hobby of film making.

This weekly column connects Pune’s alumni to their roots.
