PUNE General Bipin Rawat, chief of Army staff, visited the Southern Command headquarters on Thursday to review operational preparedness and take an update on current administrative issues.
He was accompanied by his wife, Madhulika Rawat, president of the Army wives welfare association.
Gen Rawat was briefed by lieutenant general DR Soni, general officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Command. Thereafter, Gen Rawat met and addressed all the officers of the Pune station.
Madhulika Rawat visited ‘Protsahan’, a skill development centre of Southern Command which imparts training to empower the wives of Army personnel. She was accompanied by Suman Soni, regional president, Army wives welfare association, Southern Command. Madhulika was shown various vocational training courses being conducted at Protsahan where she also interacted with wives of all soldiers of all ranks.
