Hawaldar, woman booked in Pune for domestic violence and criminal intimidation of hawaldar’s wife

The 41-year-old hawaldar’s wife in her complaint said that her husband and the woman, identified as Monica Jathar, threatened to kill her after she confronted them about their alleged affair.

A hawaldar and a woman were booked by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police for domestic violence and criminal intimidation of the hawaldar’s wife. The wife suspected an alleged affair between the hawaldar and the woman.

According to the police, the hawaldar was identified as Vijay Sarjerao Shelar, who was posted at the Wakad police station. The woman was identified as Monica Jathar, a resident of Mhatobanagar, Wakad. The police did not reveal the name of the hawaldar’s wife on her request.

The 41-year-old hawaldar’s wife in her complaint said that her husband and Jathar threatened to kill her after she confronted them about their alleged affair. On Saturday, the complainant went to Jathar’s house to confront her. Jathar, then, allegedly abused her verbally and attacked her physically.

The 41-year-old complainant, then, approached the police and lodged a complaint against her husband and Jathar.

A case under Sections 498(a) (domestic violence), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (insult with an intention of provoking breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intenti on) of Indian Penal Code was registered at the Wakad police station.
