The Pune anti-corruption bureau (ACB), which is probing the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) land deal case against former revenue minister Eknath Khadse, has officially informed city-based activist and complainant Hemant Gavande that the agency has filed a closure report in the court.
ACB in a letter to Gavande, the copy of which is with Hindustan Times, stated that after probing the case in detail it has submitted a “C-summary report in Special Court in Pune”. The C-summary report, according to law experts, is filed when no case is made out against the suspect.
“It has come to my knowledge by the ACB letter dated April 30, 2018, containing that ACB has filed a C-Summary report to court dated April 27, 2018. It means that ACB did not find any substance in the case against Khadse,” said Gavande on Friday. He claimed to have not yet received the detailed copy submitted by ACB to the court.
While ACB has submitted the C-Summary report to the court, the latter is yet to take a call on it, said probe agency officials.

{{/usCountry}}Based on the complaint filed by Gavande, ACB filed a case against Khadse under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code at the Bund Garden police station. Gavande said that he has sought the certified copy from the court following which he will decide on approaching the high court.

Gavande had alleged that Khadse as a revenue minister had purchased a three-acre plot at Bhosari in Pune. The plot, which was originally owned by MIDC was bought by Khadse in the name of his kin for ₹3.75 crore as against the market price of ₹40 crore. Following the allegations, Khadse had quit the Devendra Fadnavis ministry in June 2016. The state government had set up a judicial commission, headed by retired justice Dinkar Zoting, to probe the allegations against Khadse. The Zoting committee has submitted its report, the contents of which have not been made public by the government.
