Kirlosakar Brothers Limited celebrate 100 years of incorporation

Road blocks to government policies should be removed in order to give a boost to innovation, said noted scientist Raghunath Mashelkar.
He was in the city to deliver the keynote address at a programme organised by the Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), which celebrates the start of its 100th year of incorporation as a public limited company on Sunday, March 10.
Mashelkar said, “The road blocks to government policies should be removed. They are one of the major hindrances to innovation and businesses have to start from scratch owing to such policies.”

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kirloskar, said, “The history packed in 100 years of the company has many milestones that are a part of the legacy which we have inherited. Going forward, focus will be on product research and development and embracing of new technologies for innovation, along with inculcating a strong value system across the organisation, which will be imperative to uphold its rich legacy.”
“A revised code of ethics for Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, which was launched by Ratan Tata, is an integral part of the functioning of the company, and has served as a barometer of the value systems for the employees of the company,” Sanjay added.
“Every year, employees have to score cent per cent marks in an internal ethics test to qualify for increments and promotions,” he added.
Rama Kirloskar, non-executive director, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, highlighted the need for improving engineering skills at the grassroots level to enable Indian industry to create an enabling environment. This will help the next generation of Indian engineers achieve their rightful place in the world, she said.
