A complaint was filed against Dixit after he organised a press interaction on March 11, a day after the poll code was implemented.

During the press interaction, Dixit shared details about a proposed extension route and announced that the detailed project report will be finalised soon.

Naval Kishore Ram, Pune district collector, said, “Taking cognisance of the case, it is our apprehension that there was a violation of model of conduct. Hence, we will conduct an inquiry. However, a fair chance will be given to Dixit to present his case and only then will a final decision be made.”

Ram said cases of violation of model of conduct are often filed during election campaigns, but authenticity of such complaints is always ascertained after proper scrutiny.

At the press conference, Dixit spoke about the proposed expansion plans of the Metro corridor in the city and informed that the detailed project report for the Swargate to Katraj Metro will be finalised by March-end.

“The Maha-Metro chief did not make any new announcements on the day of press interaction. He only gave an update on the work that has been going on for a very long time. Hence, we are sure that the case registered against us will be taken back immediately after we have presented our case,” added the Metro official.
