Pune software engineer murdered over parking space dispute in Lullanagar

A man was killed in a fight that started over parking space in front of his house in Lullanagar on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Naval Battiwala, 39, a software engineer by profession, according to the police. The deceased was a resident of a house at the end of a service road along Sahni Park in the area.

The Kondhwa police have arrested three people in connection with the murder. The owner of the vehicles, has been identified as Sriganesh Jaywantrao Raskar, 31.

Commercial vehicles are regularly parked outside Battiwala's house in Lullanagar, according to the police. On Friday night, when he saw two vehicles being parked outside his house, he asked the drivers not to do so. The driver approached the owner of the commercial vehicles, Raskar, who in turn approached Battiwala, according to the police.

Raskar and two of his colleagues, then, got into an altercation with Battiwala. The three allegedly thrashed him with iron rods and stones, grievously injuring him in the process. While the three of them fled the spot, Battiwala was rushed to a private hospital in the area where he breathed his last in the early hours of Saturday.

While Sriganesh Raskar and Kawade lived in a nearby building called Mohit Tower, Bhombe lived in Chintamaninagar region of Bibvewadi, according to the police.
