Pune woman duped by fraudster posing as a policeman

A 32-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with the Cantonment police stating that she was duped to the tune of Rs 55,750 by a fraudster who posed as a policeman. The accused promised the complainant a two-wheeler at affordable rates from the police quota. The incident took place between March 6 and April 26, 2019.

The complainant choose to be anonymous, according to the police.

According to the police, the accused took the money from her on different occasions through online National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and defrauded her.

The woman had given an application to the police, and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered, the police said.
