Robbers hit home, assault family of five, flee with goods worth ₹4 L in Pune

An eight-member gang of armed robbers forced entry into a house at a farmhouse in Dhayari and assaulted a family of five at 1.30 am on Tuesday. The intruders escaped with cash and ornaments worth Rs four lakh.

According to the police, the family members of Balu Pokale (60), including his wife Chhaya (47), son Vishal, daughter-in-law Neeta and nephew, were asleep when the robbers broke in. The dacoits assaulted the male members with sticks and tied up the victims. They snatched ornaments from the women, and fled with Rs 75,000 in cash, four mobile phones and a motorcycle.

The complaint was filed by Neeta Pokale at Sinhgad police station. Inspector Duryodhan Pawar of Sinhagad police station, who is incharge of the case, said, “Various teams have been deployed to nab the robbers.”
