The local court in Pune will decide on the extension of anticipatory bail given to Congressman Rohit Tilak on Thursday. The argument in the case against interim anticipatory bail granted to 38-year-old Tilak in a rape case was concluded on Tuesday at the local court. Additional session judge LL Yenkar heard both sides before posting the matter for judgement on Thursday.

The 41-year-old complainant woman, who had asked the Principal Judge for a change of jury in the case, did not appear in the court on Tuesday when the final hearing took place. The complainant has also filed an application of perjury against Tilak who is married to Pranati Tilak and is a father of a child.

Advocate Nandu Phadke, representing the direct descendant of freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak, raised questions against the complainant’s character in his final arguments.

He also said that in the thick book of possible evidence submitted by the woman, who is a law practitioner herself, only selective portions have been submitted. He then went on to question the merits of the original rape case.
