Savitribai Phule Pune University celebrates 111th convocation ceremony

The university also announced that there was an increase in its research opportunities with the number of publications going up from 1569 in 2011 to 4774 this year.

Savitribai Phule Pune University celebrated its 111th convocation ceremony at the Sant Gyaneshwar Auditorium on Friday, June 30. The convocation was held in the main campus of the university with Emeritus professor Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune, Dr Jayant Narlikar as the chief guest.

“MHRD’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked us, Savitribai Phule Pune University, at the 10th position amongst all Indian universities and has graded us to be at 18th position in the overall ranking of all the higher education institutes in India,” pointed out the chief guest of Dr Jayant Narlikar, while delivering his convocation address.

Giving due credit to the teachers for their efforts in the achievements of the students, he further added, “The excellence of our teachers is reflected in the achievements of the students. I am delighted to mention here that many of our teachers have received prestigious awards and recognitions at the State, National and International levels.”
