Two women attacked in separate incidents in PCMC in a day

While one of the injured woman was attacked by her husband, the other was attacked by a man who made advances at her daughter-in-law, according to the police.

Two women suffered serious burn injuries after being attacked by men in two separate incidents on Tuesday. While one of the injured woman was attacked by her husband, the other was attacked by a man who made advances at her daughter-in-law, according to the police.

Harshada Umesh Kamble (21) filed a complaint against her husband Umesh Malhari Kamble (36) after he poured diesel on her and set her ablaze in their house. The attack happened around 2 pm on Tuesday in their residence in Vrundavan Colony in Chinchawadenagar of Valhekarwadi area in Chinchwad, according to the police. After setting her ablaze, the husband locked her in the house and left, according to her complaint.

A case under Sections 498(a) (domestic violence), 307 (attempted murder) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Chinchwad police station against Umesh Kamble. Police sub-inspector RB Sodanwar of Chinchwad police station is investigating the case. The complaint in the case has been filed by the woman herself.

The complaint in the matter was filed by Sandeep Sawant and a case under Sections 307 (attempted murder), 452 (assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Wakad police station against Nitin. Assistant police inspector (API) MA Jadhav of Wakad police station is investigating the case.

Both the men are yet to be arrested.
