The police have booked Raj Kumar of Sianniwal village on charges of attacking the executive engineer of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) from the Nakodar suburban division.
In his complaint to the police, executive engineer Surinderpal Singh said he went to the village for checking power supply and found the accused was using ‘kundi’ from a LT line. When he ordered accompanying employees to remove the connection, the accused stopped them and used abusive language and attacked him with an iron rod. The police said a case had been registered against the accused.
DDPO accused of working for party
Sahem village panchayat member Mohan Lal has accused the district development and panchayat officer (DDPO) of pressurising the panchayat members to work in favour of a particular political party. In his complaint to the Punjab chief electoral officer, Lal said when he went to the DDPO’s office, the latter asked him to support a political party in violation of model code of conduct.
