Interestingly, both the gang leaders were recently released on bail, one of them as close as yesterday.

SSP Ludhiana (rural) Gurpreet Singh Toor, DSP (Raikot) Kehar Singh and SHO Raikot reached the spot soon after the incident. A rifle used in the firing was also confiscated from the spot. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Binderjeet Singh and four other members of his gang. All the accused are at large.

It all started this afternoon when Baldeep Singh of Johlan village, a member of Raja gang and a rival of Binderjeet gang, entered into a scuffle with Binderjeet, senior vice-president of district Shiromani Akali Dal, and his accomplice. He was admitted to the Raikot civil hospital with injuries.

SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor said nobody would be spared. According to Dilbagh Singh, SHO Raikot, a case has been registered against Binderjeet and his accomplices.
