Acting on a complaint, a team led by ACP Naresh Dogra and district health officer Dr Jasbir Singh raided Deod Sidh Food Products factory on Tuesday and seized ten quintal of desi ghee.

The complainant was the management of Rudrapur (UP) based desi ghee factory with the trade mark 'Balak'. It said that the factory in Rama Mandi was using its mark to market adulterated ghee.

The police sealed the factory and arrested the owner Ravinder Gupta.

Dogra said the unit had been operating for several years and the owners were using the trade mark of the Rudrapur based company which had failed, but had not shun the trade mark 'Balak'.

Five samples of the ghee has been sent for testing in a laboratory at Chandigarh, Dr Singh said.
