Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh, a member of the royal family and custodian of 9-year-old king Lakshya Raj, who was crowned as the king of the state last year, said that it was a little effort to remember the ruler who contributed to the welfare of the people of his princely state.

The last ruler died on December 6, 1964, since then the doors of the Royal Palace remained closed but they were reopened in 2009. The residents of the town who paid homage to last ruler during the function in large number also relished the 'bhajan sandhya'.

About 5 years ago, the niece of the last ruler maharaja Udai Parkash, had started the celebration, but a dispute between families was raised during the coronation of 9-year-old king last year thus the function was organised in the another part of the Royal Palace, which is owned by maharani of Jaipur Padmini Devi, the daughter of the last ruler.

It may be noted that Diya Kumari, the daughter of Padmini Devi and mother of Lakshya Ram, was recently elected as the member of legislative assembly in Rajasthan on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) symbol.
