A 14-year-old girl was repeatedly raped by her mother's live-in partner and was allegedly forced to undergo abortion after she conceived.
The abuse allegedly lasted more than one-and-a-half years and the girl and her mother, residents of Baba Buddha Ji Avenue, were allegedly threatened by the accused with dire consequences if they reported the matter. However, they took the bold step and lodged a complaint with the police against the accused on Sunday.
The Amritsar city police have registered a case against accused Davinderjit Singh, a resident of Fatehchak village, Tarn Taran, under sections 376, 506, 318 of IPC and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Sultanwind police station on the basis of the complaint lodged by the minor. However, the accused could not been arrested as yet.
In the complaint, the minor girl has alleged that the accused had an affair with her mother. She said that her parents had gone in for divorce and ever since the accused had been living in with her mother.
Sub-inspector Kanwaljit Kaur of Sultanwind police station, who is investigating the case, said that the victim has further alleged that the accused abused her physically for more than one-and-a-half-years.
"The girl has alleged that the accused threatened her and her mother with dire consequences if they reported the matter," the SI said and added that the complainant had also alleged that during this period, she conceived and the accused forced her to undergo an abortion by administering her certain pills.

A few days ago, another teen-aged girl was raped in the city by one of her acquaintances, who intercepted her while she was headed for school. The accused allegedly took her to a hotel near the bus stand, where he made her consume a beverage laced with intoxicants, which rendered her unconscious.
