2017 Punjab polls: AAP may name 35 candidates in 2 days

The third list of 35 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party is likely to be released by the party in the coming two days.

The third list of 35 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party is likely to be released by the party in the coming two days.

The political affairs committee of the party led by national convener Arvind Kejriwal met in New Delhi this evening to finalise the list.

The name of former Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira as the AAP candidate from Bholath has been finalised.

The list also includes the name of journalist Kanwar Sandhu, who is the chairman of the Punjab dialogue team of AAP, as the party’s candidate from Kharar.

Head of the party’s NRI wing, Jagtar Sanghera, is likely to be fielded from Nakodar and Gurinder Singh Kang, the party’s Kisan Wing chief, is expected to be fielded from Baghapurana.

The list also includes Capt Vikramjit Singh (retd), the party’s convener of the ex-servicemen cell, as the candidate from Khem Karan. The name of former Congress leader and ex-MLA Jagtar Singh Rajla is under consideration from Samana.
