A total of 26 benches were set up, including 21 at Jalandhar, five at Phillaur and Nakodar divisions. Most of the cases were related with domestic violence, civil cases, cheque bounce, traffic challans and others. Rs 15.25 crore compensation was also disbursed to the grieving parties.

District and sessions judge and chairman of district legal services authority (DLSA) Raj Shekhar Attri appealed to the public to resolve their disputes through lok adalats as it provided quick and economic justice delivery.

DLSA secretary and civil judge (senior division) Rana Kanwar Deep Kaur said no appeal would be there in any court against the judgement of a lok adalat.
