3-day organic farming festival from July 26

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal will inaugurate the three-day natural farming and environment festival being organised by Kheti Virasat Mission here on July 26.

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal will inaugurate the three-day natural farming and environment festival being organised by Kheti Virasat Mission here on July 26.

The mission had organised the first festival last year; it will be for the first time that the mission and the Punjab government will work together.

The festival to be organised at the community centre of Model Town, Phase 3, will include seminars, public dialogues, farmer training workshops, kitchen gardening workshops for women, cultural programmes, kisan haat and stalls by organic supporters.

The department of local bodies, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Punjab Technical University, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, department of agriculture, department of industry and Bathinda Association of NGOs will also be part of the festival.

The main attractions of the festival will be Bebe di Rasoi, farmers' haat, a performance by North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, natural farming training workshops for farmers, pesticide-free kitchen gardening training workshop and dialogue on the issues of environment, health, water and conservation of natural resources.
