The victims have been identified as Nimi Chand, Kishori Yadav and Manoj Kumar, all hailing from Bihar. The roof caved in following the blast and the debris was scattered all around. Assistant sub-inspector Balwinder Singh, who rushed to the spot, said the victims were rushed to a private hospital in Khanna.
“We have started the investigation and necessary action will be taken after recording the victims’ statements,” he said.
“The blast could have happened due to mistake at the end of the quality controller. All equipment should be checked properly before putting it into use in the furnace,” said Koshal Mishra, a member of the migrant welfare board.
