4 held with fake currency notes worth Rs 5 lakh

Fazilka Police claim to have nabbed four members of a gang involved in the printing and distribution of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and recovered Rs 4,80,000 fake notes besides a computer and its printers from them.

Fazilka Police claim to have nabbed four members of a gang involved in the printing and distribution of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and recovered `4,80,000 fake notes besides a computer and its printers from them.

DSP Jalalabad Ajmer Singh Bath said a few days ago, they had arrested Jaswinder Singh Pappi with fake notes who, during interrogation, revealed that Paramjit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Mahinder Pal Singh from Bhimeshah village and Balwinder Singh of Pakka village were also involved in the scam.

The gang had allegedly had set up a computer, scanner and printers to prepare the fake notes and Balwinder Singh was their kingpin.

Paramjit Singh and Balwinder were also booked in criminal cases at Muktsar, Guruharsahai and Amritsar. The four accused have been sent to police remand for three days by a local court, said the DSP.
