“Within 72 hours, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi should reveal the names of Congressmen involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots or else we will launch a stir against the Congress and gherao his house,” said Manjit Singh GK, the president of DSGMC.

He was referring to Gandhi’s recent remarks that some Congressmen were probably involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots but they were punished. Several Sikh groups had on Thursday staged a protest outside the Congress headquarters at 24, Akbar Road, and demanded that Gandhi reveal the names of party members who were involved in the riots.

Supreme Court-appointed SIT should probe riots
On Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s decision for setting up a special investigation team (SIT) to re-investigate the cases of anti-Sikh riots, GK demanded the setting up of a Supreme Court-appointed SIT.

DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that the Ved Marwaha Commission constituted by the government to investigate the riots was told to stop its inquiry halfway when it highlighted the role of top Delhi police officers. “This shows clear-cut involvement of the Congress,” he alleged.
