Patiala MP Dharamvira Gandhi, along with an AAP delegation, also handed over a memorandum highlighting their demand to Patiala deputy commissioner Varun Roojam.

AAP also urged the state government to register a case of murder against the police officials allegedly involved in the brutal killing of two brothers Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh on August 28 in Jamalpur locality of Ludhiana.

The government has already suspended Khanna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Harsh Kumar Bansal and four other police personnel, including Machhiwara SHO Manjit Singh on Monday.

"There is complete lawlessness in the state and the present law and order scenario is worse than that of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh", Dr Gandhi said.

He added that the recent incident was reminiscent of "sheer atrocities by the cold-blooded police" of the state during terrorism days.

Gandhi said, "The only fault of the two innocent brothers was that they supported AAP during Lok Sabha elections".
