An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker was shot dead allegedly by a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader following a land dispute at Bhinder Kalan village in Dharamkot on Sunday evening.

The incident took place when Jagseer, a former sarpanch, along with his 15 accomplices, went to Jagroop’s fields and started ploughing the land. When Jagroop objected to it, the accused opened fire at him his nephew Pritpal Singh and father Jaura Singh.
Jagroop and Pritpal were referred to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, where Jagroop died.
Getting information about the incident, AAP leaders, including HS Phoolka and Ramesh Grover, rushed to the spot and condemned the incident.
Phoolka, who went to lodge ‘zero’ first information report (FIR) at city south Moga police station, alleged that the police were not cooperating.
Grover termed it an act of vandalism by Akali leaders and said they would provide justice to the deceased’s family.
Dharamkot station house officer (SHO) Satwinder Singh was not aware of the incident. The SHO didn’t even informed his seniors the attack.
Meanwhile, police were investigating till filing of the report.
