Chautala in a statement said decisions taken in the meeting will directly benefit builders and realtors in Gurgaon and Faridabad. The INLD leader alleged that the manner in which the meeting was convened on Friday showed that the Congress-led UPA wanted to legitimise the sub-regional plan to benefit realtors.

"The manner in which the union environment secretary was sent out of the meeting of the NCRPB after he raised certain objections regarding the forest areas spells out the intention of the Congress governments. By calling union minister Girija Vyas at the last minute for the meeting just to complete the quorum is also a case in point," Abhay Singh alleged.

He held that subsequent to the clearance of the sub-regional plan, forest areas could be converted into natural conservation zone in which developers can construct buildings to promote tourism.
