Adampur mishap: Three dead as bike catches fire after collision with trailer

The deceased have been identified as Jagnal Chaudhary, his son Sahil, and Govind.

Three persons, including a father-son duo, died after their bike collided with a trailer and eventually caught fire outside Karwal palace near Kathar village in Adampur on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur National highway Monday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Jagnal Chaudhary, his son Sahil, and Govind. They were returning after paying obeisance at the Chintpurni shrine. Currently, there is annual sawan mela at the famous temple and huge crowds flock to the shrine. Today is last day of the fair.

Adampur police station SHO Gopal Singh said the bodies had been sent for postmortem and that the trailer driver fled from the spot.

We have called the owner of trailer and FIR will be registered accordingly, SHO added.
