Addressing a joint press conference, Arminder Singh Chhina alias Pothi, OSD to Kamal Sharma, and Jimmy Sandhu, personal assistant of Sharma as well as president of the local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha, rebuffed the charges levelled by Pinki during the session of the state assembly at Chandigarh.

"The charges have been levelled under a conspiracy to tarnish the image of Kamal Sharma," they said while demanding a CBI probe into the entire episode.

"We will file a defamation suit against Pinki," they threatened. "They denied that they had gone to receive any alleged smuggler nor they have any sort of proximity with him. It's an entirely self-cooked story in view of the coming MC polls," they said.

Meanwhile, district Congress president Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa alleged that the SAD and the BJP are two sides of the same coin and a probe into the matter by a sitting judge of a high court should be held as the CBI is under the union government presently led by the BJP.
