The UT administration had asked the industrialist to deposit two months' rent as advance consumption demand (ACD).

Arun Mahajan, president of IAC, said they have requested the JERC to allow consumers to pay the ACD in six equal instalments without any surcharge or late payment charges.

The IAC submitted that the ACD was working out to be huge amount and immediate payment would disturb the cash flow of consumers. The industrialist also requested the commission to allow more time for making the complete payment.

There are nearly 2.5 lakh consumers falling under different categories, of which 1.75 lakh fall in the domestic category.
