Congress MLA from Sohna, Dharambir Singh, who contested the Lok Sabha poll on a BJP ticket and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Charanjit Singh who contested Lok Sabha poll on an INLD ticket have already resigned from the assembly.

The business magnate-cum-politician, who quit the Congress in March, had tried unsuccessfully to gain entry into the BJP and later Kuldeep Bishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC).

A close pal of chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Sharma owed his politico-business revival to his proximity with Hooda and thus shocked many by snapping his 40-year-old association with the anti-incumbency facing Congress.

While his immediate political plans are not known, Sharma had on March 9 announced at a rally in Kurukshetra his support for BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
