Anniversary of Jallianwala Bagh massacre observed

Lauding the contributions of freedom fighters from Punjab and terming the Jallianwala Bagh massacre as a turning point in the freedom struggle of India, leaders of various political parties, NGOs, families of freedom fighters and youths in yellow turbans dressed up as Bhagat Singh paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the massacre.

Lauding the contributions of freedom fighters from Punjab and terming the Jallianwala Bagh massacre as a turning point in the freedom struggle of India, leaders of various political parties, NGOs, families of freedom fighters and youths in yellow turbans dressed up as Bhagat Singh paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the massacre.

The speakers, including RL Bhatia, chairman, Jallianwala Bagh Management Committee, Dr Raj Kumar Verka, deputy chairman, National SC/ST Commission, Laxmi Kanta Chawla, former cabinet minister, Congress MLA OP Soni and others, said that there was a dire need to work hard to realise the dreams of freedom fighters who were killed in the massacre.

A contingent of the Punjab Police paid rich tributes to the martyrs by reversing arms. A silence was also observed in their memory.
