The month-long annual 'chaitra' fair of Baba Balak Nath will be held at the temple complex at Deotsidh in the district from March 14. This was announced by deputy commissioner Rohan Chand Thakur at a meeting held here on Thursday.

The meeting was organised to finalise strategy for the smooth functioning of the fair and to provide more and more facilities to the people.

This fair is organised every year in memory of Baba Balak Nath, the incarnation of Lord Kartekya, elder son of Lord Shiva. Nearly fifty to sixty lakh devotees visit the ancient shrine during the fair.

The meeting was informed that during the fair, no one would be allowed to carry any fire arms and lethal weapons in the Badsar revenue sub-division.

The DC had formed a committee to review the condition of temple inns.

Moreover, adequate security arrangements would be made for the smooth arrival and departure of the pilgrims visiting the shrine during the festival.
