General Bikram Singh, chief of the army staff (COAS), on Wednesday visited the local military station of the Chetak Corps. Lieutenant general Gyan Bhushan, general officer commanding-in-chief, South Western Command, accompanied him.

Corps commander lieutenant general Sanjeev Anand briefed the army chief about operational preparedness in the zone. The general was satisfied with the operational readiness and training of the soldiers, and the efforts made to improve the quality of their lives. He also interacted with veteran soldiers and agreed to look after their welfare. He felicitated retired gallantry award winners.
