Local police personnel were deployed as Sai's supporters gathered in the ashram to have his glimpse. They showered flowers on the bus in which he was brought here and carried placards claiming that Sai was "innocent" and "a victim of politics".

Asaram's son reached the ashram around 2.30 pm. The media and his supporters, who had prior information about the visit, arrived there in the morning and waited for him.

The crime branch of the Delhi Police had arrested the accused from Pipli (Haryana) on December 3 after following him from Ludhiana.

In October, a journalist had gone to Sai's ashram to find out whether he was there, but Asaram's supporters had manhandled the former and snatched his car key. The Ludhiana police have not taken any action in this case.
