Former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia has announced that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will start agitation against state government if no action is taken against people responsible for beating up the Dalit worker and his family. This comes a day after Majithia entered the public meeting of additional director general of police (law and order) Rohit Chowdhary to seek justice for the Dalit family.

Majithia, who called a meeting of party workers and other senior leaders said, “I am not bothered by attacks on me and I will again go to such meetings if atrocities against SAD workers are not stopped.” “The ADGP meeting was just a Congress show. How can you expect justice from them?” Majithia said. “If police would have been sincere they should have called the SAD workers who are subjected to Congress vendetta,” he stressed.

“These meetings are mere eyewash. If Punjab DGP and ADGP are serious about law and order, they should act against suspects,” he said. Majithia even questioned the seriousness of the ADGP meeting saying, many persons present in the meeting are facing serious criminal charges. Majithia said, “Dalit Kashmir Singh and his family members were beaten and threatened by Congress workers to which police were a mute spectator.”

Former Akali minister Gulzar Singh Ranike said, “SAD workers will not bow to the atrocities of Congress and will answer back. The Dalit leaders and Akali Dal are with Kashmir Singh.”
