The inclement weather here is continuously giving sleepless nights to people of tribal Lahaul and Spiti district, where reportedly an avalanche hit the Yoche village of the district last Thursday.

The avalanche destroyed several houses, but no loss of life has been confirmed so far as the people had earlier moved to safer places.
Locals said that there were total 14 houses in the region. When contacted, Lahaul and Spiti deputy commissioner Hans Raj Chauhan said, "We have sent a rescue team to the region to confirm the report."
He added the heavy snow that has accumulated in the region was a big hindrance to reach the places affected.
