Police stopped popular Punjabi singer-actor Babbu Maan on Wednesday from meeting fasting Sikh activist Surat Singh Khalsa at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) here.
The singer-actor then met Khalsa's daughter and son and assured them of support. Khalsa is on intravenous (IV) fluid. Khalsa daughter, Sarvinder Kaur, said Maan had come to meet her father around 2pm. "Security personnel stopped him near the ward, and even after several requests, didn't allow him in."

"He told us that he supported the cause of my father and would stand by him," said Sarvinder Kaur. On July 22, Khalsa was moved to the DMCH from the Ludhiana Civil Hospital after his condition deteriorated at the government hospital.
