Disclosing this here on Tuesday, Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, former MLA, Kum Kalan, and senior vice-president of Youth Akali Dal, said, "The Punjab government has fulfilled its promise made during the assembly elections, within three months of assuming power. The government has sympathetically considered the long-pending demand of the natives of this area. The tireless efforts of Punjab legislative assembly speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal bore fruits and the Punjab government has finally lifted the ban."

He said the formal announcement in this regard would be made during a function scheduled to be organised on June 20 at 3pm in the office of the Doraha Nagar Council.
