The DC, along with senior superintendent of police Surjit Singh, held a meeting with managers of the banks to discuss security arrangements in banks.

She observed that the banks also lacked facilities to tackle fire exigencies and directed the managers to put fire-fighting equipment in place.

The SSP instructed the bank officials to provide due information to the nearest police station regarding the customers making large transactions.

He said that guards needed to be properly trained and their guns checked. He also expressed need for deployment of security guards at ATMs.
