Himachal Youth Congress president and son of chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Vikrmaditya Singh, on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs of Himachal of failing to raise the hill-state's issues in the Parliament.
Interacting with mediapersons at the Circuit House here, Vikramaditya said that Narendra Modi-led central government wanted to oblige the industrial houses, which funded Modi's election campaign. When asked about the proposed yatra of transport minister GS Bali, the Youth Congress chief said that the minister could tell better about the same.
He also said that though the government had completed one year, every section of the society was feeling cheated by its inactions. "Be it youth, farmers or businessmen, all were promised a lot by Modi during his poll campaign, but nothing has been fulfiled so far, Vikramaditya said.
Earlier, the Youth Congress chief, in the presence of Bollywood actor and Rajya Sabha MP Raj Babbar, led a 'pad yatra', which was called by the Youth Congress against the failure of the Modi government in the country and the land acquisition bill.
Babbar, while addressing the party workers, termed the Modi government "suit, boot, loot ki sarkar". The Congress leader said that the Prime Minister was behaving like a "maharaja who has no concern for the common people". "He has become a paridhan (dress) mantra and not pradhan mantri (Prime Minister)," Babbar added.
Raising the farmers' issues, Babbar said that Modi had no time to meet the farmers, "but has time to click selfies". "The central government has enough money to give loans of `5,000 crore to industrialist Adani and $1 billion to Mongolia, but has no funds for the welfare of farmers and youth," added the Congress leader.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, Vikramaditya, on behalf of the party workers', apologised before the mediapersons as they, instead of reaching the press conference, where Babbar was to address the audience, at 1:30pm, reached at 3:00pm.
The yatra ended at the premises of the deputy commissioner's office in Mandi.
